The nominations for the 76th Primetime Emmys will be announced on Wednesday by actors Sheryl Lee Ralph and Tony Goldwyn in Hollywood. These nominations will recognize producers, actors, and writers for categories including best comedy, drama, limited series, and TV movie, among others. You can watch the livestream of the announcement at 11:30 a.m. EDT / 8:30 a.m. PDT.
The winners will be revealed on September 15 (ABC, 8 EDT / 5 PDT), exactly eight months after the 75th Primetime Emmys were presented on Fox. The previous ceremony was delayed due to last year's writers' and actors' strikes.
In January, FX's "The Bear" and HBO's "Succession" tied for the most wins, each taking home six awards. However, with the conclusion of the dysfunctional family drama "Succession" in spring 2023, the field is now open for a new contender to succeed the Roys as best drama. Will FX's "Shogun" fill the void? And will "The Bear" continue to roar the loudest in the best comedy category?
Eligible programs aired between June 1, 2023, and May 31, 2024, in all categories.
ABC has not yet announced a host for the September ceremony (Anthony Anderson hosted the January show on Fox). The show will be broadcast live from Los Angeles' Peacock Theater and will stream the following day on Hulu.
